About Danebank Anglican School for Girls
Danebank, an Anglican School for Girls, is a non-selective, girls only School with students from Pre-Kindergarten (4 year olds) to Year 12. The School was founded in 1933 in Hurstville and still proudly serves families from the Georges River, Rockdale and Sutherland regional areas, and beyond.
Danebank is widely acknowledged for its nurturing, Christian environment, excellent academic outcomes, educational innovation and fine facilities.
Students are supported and challenged in dynamic learning situations to become confident, articulate, successful women who will take leading roles in the wider community. Danebank provides a wide range of challenges for students as they learn - Accelerated Mathematics, extension courses of study in Year 11 and 12, and gifted and talented programs are balanced with wonderful performing and creative arts programs, sports, peer mentoring, leadership development, social justice and personal development opportunities such as the Duke of Edinburgh program in Senior School.
The school scores well above state averages in all academic measures. Over 95% of Year 12 students achieve university entry each year. However, academic prowess is not the only standard by which our girls are known. Danebank's motto - Ut Prosim - means "that I may serve". This is a foundation component of the pastoral care and community service programs at the School. Our girls are encouraged to be grateful for the opportunities they have been blessed with and to respond through serving others. This is encouraged through local and international activities, supported by strong staff involvement and example.
Danebank staff are highly qualified, and committed to the individual learning of students at the School. They give of their time and energy to assist students as they aim for their personal best outcome in their School experiences.
Danebank offers Scholarships for entry into Year 7 each year. Applications are open for students in Year 5 in Term 3 of each year. For further details regarding Scholarships please visit our website.
Danebank also provides support for students with learning disabilities through a Life Skills unit in Years 7-12. These students are supported and valued by all sectors of the school community and study a separate Life Skills program. Families of students with special support needs are encouraged to apply to the School well in advance due to the limited places in this program.
The School offers a number of Open Events across the year to allow families to visit, meet students and staff, and gain a better understanding of the benefits of a Danebank education. Please refer to our website for details of events in the upcoming months.
